Our Approach

Dr. Devlin-Craane will utilize various techniques and strategies to evaluate what the best treatment and therapy is specific for your needs. A complete psychiatric evaluation will be completed prior to the development of a treatment plan.

Traditional Talk Therapy

Just as the name states, talking is at the core of traditional talk therapy. Quite simply, talk therapy is a practice in which a patient explores their feelings by talking about them.

Medication Management

A range of services provided to clients to optimize therapeutic outcomes (help patients get the most benefit from their medications) and detects and prevent costly medication problems.

EMDR · (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

EMDR has been studied by researchers and found to be effective in the treatment of anxiety disorders, depression and posttraumatic stress disorder. Many clients experience improvement of symptoms in 3-4 sessions. Others, with complex trauma, multiple traumatic experiences may take longer, yet experience relief of symptoms within months.

Other Integrative Therapies

We use integrative health therapies, such as mind-body interventions, art therapy, nutrition, and exercise, to treat stress-related mental health conditions, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Mindfulness, reiki, acupuncture, and sound therapy. When these therapies appropriate they can be integrated into one’s treatment plan.

An Example of What to Expect

If you have a history of trauma, one of many modalities of treatment could be right for you.

· Somatic therapy, which focuses on where trauma might be stored in your body. Oftentimes, individuals will experience gastric or other physical symptoms that may have a direct relationship to a traumatic experience.

· Cognitive, which relates your thoughts about yourself related to a traumatic event.

· EMDR: Eye Movement, Desensitization and Reprocessing, a modality which addresses trauma using an evidenced based, integrative type of therapy that assists the client to reprocess traumatic memories in a way that they are not triggered as much by those memories and which allows the individual to obtain some relief from the pain those memories caused.

· Pharmacotherapy and medication management is also an option if other symptoms or conditions are present and require medication for relief.

A combination if various therapies can be used to approach each individual’s specific set of issues.
